13. Positioning the Product

No matter which operating mode you have confi gured the product for, the settings
will be retained after disconnecting the power supply as well.
• If you have confi gured the device as a repeater, it is best to place it centrally between your
WLAN router and the position where you want to have WLAN reception with your computer.
Observe that the range will still be limited, depending on environment.
We recommend that you set up your computer at a position where it would still just receive the
WLAN router's WLAN. Then place the confi gured at the middle between the two devices.
• If you have confi gured the device as an access point, you can place it anywhere. The site of
setup is limited by the length of the network cable only.
Please observe that the max. permissible cable length for 10/100Mbit networks is about
100 m.

14. Resetting to the factory settings

a) With the Reset Button on the Device
• To reset the repeated to the factory settings without web interface, connect it to a mains socket
and wait for about 1 minute until it has started up completely.
• Then push the button „Reset" at the device for about 10 seconds and release it again. Wheth-
er or not the reset was accepted by be seen by all LEDs except for the Power LED going out
briefl y.
• The repeater now restarts. This will take about 1 minute. Then the device is reset to factory
settings.
b) In the Web Interface
• To reset the repeated to the factory settings with the web interface, connect it to a mains
socket and wait for about 1 minute until it has started up completely. Log into the web interface
as described in chapter 9.
