VOLTAGE DROP IN ELECTRIC EXTENSION CORDS
If a long extension cord is used to connect an appliance or implement to the power take off alternator,
a certain amount of this voltage is lost in the extension cord, which thereby decreases the effective
voltage available for the appliance or the tools.
The table below has been prepared to illustrate the approximate voltage drop when the power take
off alternator is connected to a implement by a cable about 100 meters long.

6. STARTING PROCEDURES

■ Before the power take off alternator is put into service, check the oil level (see 4.2.).
6.1. START-UP
Before starting: make sure you have followed all the recommendations given in the previous
paragraphs of this manual.
1.
Make sure that the PTO protection (mark n° 5 on page 2) is present, in order to prevent any
accidental contact with the moving parts: the counter-cover must overcome by at least 50 mm
the protection of the cardan shaft [Fig. 02].
2.
Always check that the group is perfectly supported on the ground, and correctly aligned: the
operation of the device is strictly prohibited if this fundamental condition is not satisfied [Fig. 03,
04 and 05]. Operate with the angles of the joints which are equal and moderate
■ Please size the transmission shaft according to the tractor you are using. Its use must be
according to state of the art for safety. Strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions. Failure to
do so may result in the risk of serious injury or death.
