■ Do not introduce foreign bodies into electrical outlets.
NOTE
The power take off alternator is equipped with thermal or magneto-thermal circuit breakers which
act as overload protection. If the distribution of electric current is interrupted during use, this may
be due to an overload which causes the tripping of the thermal circuit breaker or to one of the
devices which is defective. In this case, wait a few moments, remove the cause of the overload
then reset the circuit breaker by pushing the button near the output sockets.
7. STOPPING THE POWER TAKE OFF ALTERNATOR
1.
Turn off the devices powered by the power take off alternator, then disconnect the power
outlets.
2.
Leave the tractor running without load for about 3 minutes to allow the machine to cool.
8. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Always intervene when the machine is completely stopped, taking all possible precautions to work in
the best safety conditions.
1.
Periodically check that the unit operates without vibrations or abnormal noises
2.
Check that all the fixing components (screws, nuts, etc.) are in perfect condition, including the
terminal block nuts which, if they were to loosen, would cause dangerous overheating of the
electric cables. These checks are recommended in particular after the first hours of operation.
3.
Make sure the ventilation openings are not blocked.
4.
Periodically check the oil level in the speed booster. Refer to the specific paragraph in this
manual.
5.
In the case of brush alternators, regularly check the wear of the brushes and the collector, as
well as their perfectly centered position on the sliding rings. [Fig. 10]
6.
Check the operating status of the control panel protection switches every month: when the
alternator is running and charging, check that when the special test key is pressed, the switch
trips immediately.
The group must never be cleaned using a jet of water (or any other liquid) direct or under pressure,
in order to prevent this liquid from coming into contact with the windings and possibly damaging them
very seriously [Fig. 11].
