3. Make sure that no device is plugged into the sockets on the control panel: start the tractor, and
accelerate slightly, checking for the absence of vibrations and / or abnormal noises [Fig. 06].
4. Gradually increase the number of turns, until the frequency meter indicates 52-53 Hz, and check
that the no-load voltage measured by the voltmeter is correct [Fig. 07].
5. Connect the devices to the sockets on the control panel, and check that under these conditions
the working frequency remains within the range of 49-52.5 Hz [Fig. 08]. During operation, often
check the frequency value and, if necessary, correct it by adjusting the number of revolutions
of the tractor.
NOTE
After a long period of use, the alternator and the gearbox can reach high temperatures. Before
stopping the tractor, we recommend that you leave it idiling a few minutes to speed up its cooling.
■ As previously mentioned, it is dangerous to operate the system under load for an extended
time at a number of revolutions different from the nominal value provided (max deviation: -2%,
+ 5%): indeed, this type of work represents an overload condition likely to seriously damage the
alternator and the instruments used.
6.2. ELECTRIC CURRENT USE
ALTERNATING CURRENT
The power take off alternator has been carefully tested and adjusted at the factory. If the power take
off alternator does not produce the specified voltage, contact the IMER France dealer or the nearest
service center.
Turn off the switch (es) of the electrical appliance (s) before they are connected to the power take off
alternator.
Insert the plug(s) of the electrical appliance(s) into the connection [Fig. 09].
■ Make sure that the power take off alternator is earthed, as well as the electrical equipment.
Failure to ground the device can cause electric shocks.
•
Check the amperage of the sockets and make sure that the current is not at an amperage higher
than the specified value
•
Ensure that the total power of all devices does not exceed the rated power of the power take off
alternator.
