7 Programming functions
Set up user defaults
When switching on the instrument with the rotary switch it is possible to enter
special operating modes by pressing specifc buttons (programming Power On
Function: Hold down a button during power on the instrument:)
a) "Inhibit power down mode"
Normally the instruments powers down automatically if not used to take a
reading within a predetermined time. This function can be inhibited by
pressing key on power up until completion of the display test. The
automatic power OFF is reactivated by switching ON/OFF. Automatic Power
OFF is disabled automatically in REC, LOG and SEND mode.
b) Calibration date and SW version
Holding the button until completion of the display test will cause the
recalibration date to be displayed. (mm.yy) and in the small digit display the
SW version number. After factory calibration (original cal.) the display shows
00.00. The test continues with starting up the instrument when any key is
pressed after is released.
c) Permanent backlight
Holding the key down will turn on the back light permanently. Switch it
Off by pressing button >2s or turning the instrument off
d) Switch OFF autorange
Holding the key down will turn off the autorange capability for all
continuous measurements (not for R
their highest possible range. The only exception is continuity, where the lowest
resistance range is always used. There is no visual or audible
acknowledgement that the instrument has entered this mode. The display test
continuous as usual. Switch autorange ON again by turning the instrument
OFF and ON. This mode is useful for speeding up measurement time.
e) Delete Customer specific settings and return to factory defaults:
Press button .
Turn the rotary switch from OFF to any measuring function.
The display shows: FS – Factory settings.
Confirming this display with the
stored settings. The instrument has the original default values stored again.
Turn the rotary switch to exit without setting factory defaults. Stored values in
memory are not cleared.
