Motion detection is not working correctly
• The screen/DVR has two different types of motion detection - based on changes in the camera image (see chapter
12. b) and based on heat changes in the recording area of the PIR sensor (see chapter 12. c).
Both types of motion detection have benefits and disadvantages; the most important items are:
1: Motion recognition based on changes in the camera image (see chapter 12. b):
Benefits:
Independent of ambient temperature
Independent of the temperature of the moving object
Disadvantages: False alarms, e.g. from moving vegetation (at too-sensitive setting) or from fast brightness changes
(e.g. sun/clouds)
2: Motion recognition based on heat changes in the recording area of the PIR sensor (see chapter 12. c):
Benefits:
Hardly any influences from moving vegetation (since, e.g., leaves/branches have the same tem-
perature as the environment) or brightness changes
Disadvantages: Dependent on the ambient temperature (in summer only slight temperature difference, e.g. warm
house wall and body surface of a person)
Dependent on the size and temperature of the moving object (e.g. in winter, problems must be
expected due to insulating clothing)
• Use a different sensitivity setting.
• Align the radio camera and the aerial differently.
• The monitoring area of the PIR sensor is a little larger than the opening angle of the camera lens. For this reason,
it may happen that, e.g., no persons are visible in the recorded surveillance video.
• The objects crossing the monitoring area are too fast.
SD/SDHC memory card is not recognised
• The screen/DVR can only be operated with memory cards to 32 GByte. Use of SDXC memory cards is not possible.
• The screen/DVR can only handle the file format FAT or FAT32, but not, e.g., NTFS.
• Format the memory card with the corresponding function of the screen/DVR, see chapter 11. e); all data on the
memory card will be lost. Depending on memory card size, formatting may take a while.
• Select the right data carrier for saving (either memory card or USB data carrier; see chapter 11. f).
• Remove the memory card and insert it again.
• Use a different memory card.
• Switch off the screen/DVR and then on again.
Bad image quality of the recording
• Set a higher image quality or resolution; see chapter 14. c).
Writing on the SD/SDHC memory card not possible
• Check the write protection of the memory card. There is a small slider for this on the memory card.
• If the slider moves very easily, it is possible that the slider moves when the memory card is pushed into the screen/
DVR and write protection is activated by accident.
