8. Commissioning
a) Screen/DVR
• If there is protective foil on the LC display (2), remove it now.
• Fold open the setup base (10) on the back of the screen/DVR and put the screen/DVR onto a stable, level and suf-
ficiently large area. Protect expensive furniture surfaces from impressions or scratches with suitable pads.
If the screen/DVR is to be connected to a wire-bound network, there is a docking station with network
connection in the scope of delivery. Fold in the setup base completely and insert the screen/DVR into the
docking station in the proper alignment to the stop. Do not apply any force.
The contacts (11) at the bottom of the screen/DVR now connect to the docking station.
If the screen/DVR is operated as a mobile device (it has an integrated Li-Ion rechargeable battery), simply
pull the screen/DVR upwards out of the docking station.
• Now take the larger of the two enclosed plug-in mains adapters (output voltage 5 V/DC, output current 3 A).
• Connect the low-voltage round plug the plug-in mains adapter to the corresponding socket (15) of the screen/DVR.
• Plug the plug-in mains adapter into a proper mains socket of the public mains.
At delivery, the Li-Ion rechargeable battery integrated in the screen/DVR is uncharged and must be
charged. Charging of a completely flat Li-Ion rechargeable battery takes several hours.
When the rechargeable battery is sufficiently charged, the screen/DVR can be operated mobile without the
mains adapter being connected to the screen/DVR.
• To save the video recordings, you can either use a SD/SDHC memory card (max. 32 GByte) or a USB data carrier
(USB drive or USB hard disc, max. 1 TB).
In the OSD menu of the screen/DVR, the respective storage location used must be set; see chapter 11. e).
• The memory card or the USB data carrier should be empty (or there still must be enough memory left). The only file
format permitted is FAT/FAT 32 (no NTFS). If necessary, the memory card or the USB data carrier can be reformat-
ted; all present data will be lost.
When using a SD/SDHC memory card, ensure that it corresponds at least to type "Class 4" (or higher).
Memory cards of this type permit a writing speed of at least 4 MByte/s and are absolutely necessary for
proper function when recording surveillance videos.
A change of the memory card or the USB data carrier in current operation of the screen/DVRs is not pos-
sible. Before connecting or disconnecting the memory card or a USB data carrier, the screen/DVR must be
switched off (see chapter 9. a).
A SD/SDHC memory card is pushed into the insert (13); a USB data carrier must be connected to the USB socket
(12).
If you want to use an external hard disc without a mains unit of its own (e.g. a 6.35 cm/2.5" hard disc),
observe that the screen/DVR is in this case always operated via the plug-in mains adapter. Because of the
high power input of an external hard disc, it is not possible to operate the screen/DVR with hard disc via the
installed Li-Ion battery.
If the screen/DVR is to be operated via the Li-Ion battery, insert a SD/SDHC memory card or connect a
USB drive.
