GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION

Safety during the operation of LPG-operated gas equipment while driving
If the gas equipment installed on board (
observe the operating manual of the installed gas equipment!) must also be operated while
driving the vehicle, a special safety device must be available which prevents gas escape in
case of an accident.
To safely operate the gas equipment while driving, the safety gas pressure regulation device
Caramatic DriveTwo, consisting of an automatic changeover valve, low pressure regulator
with pressure relief valve PRV and mechanical crash sensor, with two high pressure hose
assemblies with excess flow device (2x Caramatic ConnectDrive – not included in the
delivery) must be connected to the gas cylinder valves of the two-cylinder system.
The mechanical crash sensor, which blocks the gas flow in case of an accident with
deceleration of 3.5g ± 0.5g, affecting the trigger element horizontally, fulfils the requirements
for safety during operation while driving in accordance with regulation (EC) no. 661/2009 and
UN/ECE regulation R 122 on heating systems.
The automatic changeover valve with integrated low pressure regulator for two-cylinder
systems makes it possible to change the operating cylinder to the reserve cylinder
automatically as soon as the gas cylinder on the operating side is empty. This ensures a
continuous gas supply for the user. The integrated low pressure regulator keeps the outlet
pressure stated on the type label constant within defined limits regardless of fluctuations in
the inlet pressure and changes in flow rate and temperature.

Caramatic DriveTwo is not suitable for mobile homes and sea water applications.
