5 Faults
NOTICE
NOTICE
Do not switch the drive unit on and off to loosen a jammed diamond core drilling crown!
5.1 Fault: Diamond core drilling crown jammed.
Cause:
● Compressed drilling dust in dry drilling without dust extraction.
5.2 Fault: Diamond core drilling crown jams or has diffi culty cutting.
Cause:
● Loose material or steel chips have jammed.
● Drilling tube out of round or damaged.
5.3 Fault: Diamond core drilling crown has diffi culty cutting.
Cause:
● Wrong speed (ROLLER'S Centro S3, ROLLER'S Centro S2/3,5, ROLLER'S
Centro SR).
● Polished diamond segments.
● Worn diamond segments.
● Water pressure on the water supply device (15) not set correctly.
5.4 Fault: Diamond core drilling crown does not start drilling, slips to the side.
Cause:
● Diamond core drilling crown applied too abruptly when starting drilling.
● Drive unit not fi xed suffi ciently in the clamping bracket (10).
● Damaged and untrue running diamond core drilling crown.
● Drill stand not fi xed securely.
● Hand-held start drilling without start drilling aid (49).
● Vibrations due to switched-on micro-pulse technology
(ROLLER'S Centro DP).
5.5 Fault: Drilling core stuck in the diamond core drilling crown.
Cause:
● Compressed drilling dust, parts of the drilling core jammed in the drilling
tube.
5.6 Fault: Diamond core drilling crown is diffi cult to release from the drive spindle.
Cause:
● Dirt, corrosion.
5.7 Fault: Diamond core drilling crown does not work.
Cause:
● PRCD fault current circuit breaker (19) is not switched on.
● Worn carbon brushes.
● Mains lead/PRCD defective.
● Diamond core drilling machine defective.
5.8 Fault: The micro-pulse technology of ROLLER'S Centro DP switches off during drilling.
Cause:
● The feed rate during drilling is too low.
Remedy:
● Switch off the drive unit. Protector out the mains plug. Move the diamond core
drilling crown to and fro with a size 41 open-ended wrench until it is freed
again. Continue drilling carefully. Use a dust extractor or drill wet with
ROLLER'S Centro S1, ROLLER'S Centro S3, ROLLER'S Centro S2/3.5 and
ROLLER'S Centro SR.
Remedy:
● Brake drilling core and remove loose parts.
● Change diamond core drilling crown.
Remedy:
● Set the speed accordingly, see 2.2.
● Sharpen diamond segments. Drill 10 to 15 mm deep in sandstone, asphalt or a
grinding stone ((55) accessory art. no. 079012) to do this.
● Change diamond core drilling crown.
● Set water pressure accordingly, see 3.2 or 3.5.
Remedy:
● Start drilling with low feed.
● Tighten cylinder head screws (8).
● Change diamond core drilling crown.
● Fix the drill stand as described under 3.3.
● Use start drilling aid.
● Switch off the micro-pulse technology for tapping.
Remedy:
● Unscrew the diamond core drilling crown from the drive unit, knock out the
drilling core with a rod, do not damage the connecting thread. Never hit the
jacket of the drilling tube with metal parts (e.g. hammer, wrench). This will dent
the drilling tube inwards and aggravate the risk of the drilling core jamming in
future. The diamond core drilling crown could then be rendered useless. Use a
dust extractor for drilling, see 2.4.2 or wet drill with ROLLER'S Centro S1,
ROLLER'S Centro S3, ROLLER'S Centro S2/3.5 and ROLLER'S Centro SR,
see 2.5.
Remedy:
● Clean the thread of the drive spindle and the diamond core drilling crown and
oil lightly.
Remedy:
● Switch on PRCD fault current circuit breaker as described in 2.1.
● Have the carbon brushes changed by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised
ROLLER customer service workshop.
● Have the mains lead/PRCD replaced by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised
ROLLER customer service workshop.
● Have the diamond core drilling machine checked/repaired by an authorised
ROLLER customer service workshop.
Remedy:
● Increase the thrust pressure; use a drill stand if necessary.
