4. SAFETY

SAFETY AGAINST SHORT-CIRCUITS:
- The "cover" over the jaw opening mechanism totally
protects the jaws avoiding all accidental contact with
the non-insulated conductors, as well as with any fall-
ing objects.
This cover is removable (with a simple tool) therefore
it can be easily replaced in case of wear and tear.
- SIACä (Security Internal Anti Short Circuit), patent
applied for, a second safety feature provides internal
safety against short circuits between adjacent primary
conductors when clamped around said conductors.
This mechanism ensures that the magnetic circuit
sepatates at the bottom of the jaw prior to the jaw open-
ing at the top.
With SIACä system there is no need for the usual
protection at the tip of the jaws. This provides easy
access for the current probe in space restricted areas.
The safety device is not visible from outside, however
the action can be felt during the opening of the jaws.
