3. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Failure to follow the instructions can cause the current
probe to produce high voltage, which could be dan-
gerous for the OPERATOR and could cause damage
to the probe.
The PR 1200 ACI, PR 1201 ACI and the PR 1200 X
have no output limit protection.
Do not clamp the probe around a conductor
before connecting the output to the relevant
measuring equipment.
Do not disconnect the output from the measur-
ing equipment whilst the probe is still clamped
around the conductor.
Ensure that the measuring equipment is com-
·
patible with the output of the current probe and
that the appropriate range is selected.
Connect the current probe output to the meas-
·
uring equipment using safety sockets / plugs.
Clamp the probe around the current carrying
·
conductor ensuring good contact between the
jaw faces. Centre the cable in the aperture.
The arrow on the labels shows the direction of
·
the current flow from the source to the load. In
order to have a correct phase relationship be-
tween the primary current and the probe output,
care must be taken on the direction of the cur-
rent flow.
