– Carefully take the appliance out of its packaging and remove all stickers, labels,
leaflets and packaging materials.
– Remove the collection tray from the appliance, lift off the lid and take out the
measuring instrument. Place the lid back on the collection tray and push the tray
back into the appliance.
– Clean the bean container with lid and the portafilter brackets as well as the
measuring instrument in warm dish water and rinse everything carefully with
clear water. Dry the parts.
– Wipe the appliance chassis clean with a soft, slightly wet towel and dry it.
– Place the appliance on a dry, even work surface and connect the power plug to
a suitable power socket.
Caution: The coffee grinder chassis, the power cord and the power plug must never
be submerged in water or other liquids or come into contact with them!
Note: The parts of the coffee grinder and the accessories are not dishwasher safe.

Align the two cams of the bean container with the notches in the container holder
resp. with the grind size controller and and push the bean container all the way down
onto the appliance. Give the locking button a quarter turn in a clockwise direction
– in the direction of the arrow – to lock the container into place on the grinder. You
can hear a "click" sound when the bean container is locked to the grinder. Once
the bean container is locked into place, the locking button is set to the "closed lock"
position and the surround of the GRIND TIME dial lights up constantly.
Important: Make sure that the bean container is evenly positioned on the grind size
controller (D) and push the bean container all the way down onto the chassis. Only
then turn the locking button.
Now fill the coffee beans into the bean container and air tightly place the lid on top
of it.
Note: In case you have not properly fastened the bean container to the grinder, the
surround of the GRIND TIME dial does not light up and the appliance can not be
operated for your own safety.
If you wish to remove the bean container from the appliance, turn the locking but-
ton counter clock wisely and lift it up.
Tip: The locking system allows you to take the bean container off the appliance
without emptying out the beans beforehand.
