• Any and all connecting, servicing and maintenance work on the oval gear meter may be
performed only by authorized specialized staff
• Always flush (rinse) the oval gear meter, depressurise the pressure line and put on pro-
tective clothing (safety goggles, safety gloves and aprons) before starting any repair, ser-
vicing or maintenance work and before metering any hazardous fluids
• Before starting any cleaning work, please study the product data sheet for the fluid me-
tered, in order to avoid the danger of hazardous chemical reactions (in the case, for ex-
ample, of cleaning using water and previous conveyance of chemicals which may react
with water)
• Ensure before opening the oval gear meter that the system has been depressurised and
that the upstream metering pump cannot be started

Replacement of the O-ring seal between the cover and the housing is recommended every
time this joint is opened
Always ensure correct seating of the oval gearwheels! The oval gearwheels must be inserted
into position in such a way that they are located at precisely 90° relative to each other (see
Figure 6.2, Items 3+4). The (metal) sensor pins must point toward the cover. It must also be
ensured that the sensor points toward the oval gearwheel with the sensor pins (Item 3)
To check this, carefully turn one oval gearwheel using your finger; the other oval gearwheel
must co-rotate for a complete revolution without jamming and without losing contact with
the first oval gearwheel
Recalibration is recommended after cleaning of the oval gearwheels, with the associated
opening and closure of the oval gear meter!
