Post-Installation
After you have installed the Buoy Controller, complete this checklist and answer any additional homeowner questions.
NOTE: Be sure the blue end of the Controller faces the water INLET and the gray end of the Controller faces the water OUTLET.
… Verify the Controller's fit and check that the device is level and secure.
… Use the LED indicator to verify that the Controller is still connected to the home's WiFi network. A red light indicates that the
network connection was lost.
… Turn on the water at the main.
… Verify that there are no leaks and that the house pressure is between 50 psi and 80 psi.
… Turn on the water heater input.
… Cycle the Controller valve by pressing the red button for two seconds and releasing it. Repeat to open the valve.
… To test: Ask the homeowner to run cold water through the system, then verify in the app that the water flow was captured. (This
could take a minute for first water flow.) Repeat for hot water.
… Take an "after" picture of the installed Controller and new plumbing.
… Offer to bleed the air from the customer's system. If the customer declines, explain what they should expect while the air vents from
the system.
… Remind the homeowner that, during the first two weeks while the Controller is learning the home's water signature, they will not
receive leak alerts and the Controller will not automatically shut off the water.
