Option 2: Install with Optional Waterhorn Accessory (Not Included)
Minimizes cut space with separate purchase of waterhorn accessory. Requires minimum clearance of approximately 4 in. to attach the
waterhorn to the pipe.
Fittings: Copper female adaptors
1. Install copper female adaptor (not included) on each pipe.
2. Place one white gasket inside each of the union fittings at the top
and bottom of the waterhorn.
3. Assemble the waterhorn union fittings, copper FPT female adaptors,
and the waterhorn. Use a smooth-jawed wrench to tighten all
fittings.
Use teflon tape only if needed. Liquid thread sealer
is not recommended.
4. Place the Controller in the waterhorn with a black gasket on
each side, then tighten the swivel adaptors (do not use force or
overtighten).
5. Make sure the Buoy logo is facing outward and the LED is visible.
6. Make sure the Controller is securely braced.
Option 3: Install with Flexible Line (Not Included)
A flexible line installation requires at least a 20 in. x 20 in. wall space for the Controller, couplings, flex line, and strapping to secure the
Controller to the wall, and a minimum of 6 in. depth.
Fittings: Appropriate adaptors for type of pipe
1. Attach the 3/4-in. couplings with rubber gaskets (included) to each
end of the Controller.
2. Attach flexible lines to each coupling.
3. Use professional judgement to secure the Controller to the wall with
strapping.
4. Make sure the Buoy logo is facing outward and the LED is visible.
Other fittings:
3/4-in. male NPT to 1-in. female NPS union fittings – Included with Controller
3/4-in. female sweat to 3/4-in. FPT/FIPS fitting – Can reduce the number of fittings and space needed
