Fitting instructions
1. Disassemble the bumper in the back and remove the exhaust, remove the covering of the trunk as also the
side-wall coating.
2. Place the plates (1) at the left and (2) at the right on the bottom of the trunk so that points (D) match the
provided points (indicated with a cross, see fig. 1). Drill points (D), (A), (B) and (C) exactly through in
the bottom of the trunk with ø10,5mm. Enlarge the holes (A) and (B) in the bottom of the trunk to
ø19mm.
3. Place now the tow bar with points (F) matching the provided drillings in the underside of the chassis
beams, these points serve only as drill reference. Drill now points (A) and (B) through in the underside
of the chassis with ø10,5mm.
4. Bring the distance tubes (3) through the trunk by (A) and the distance tubes (4) by (B), replace the plates
(1) and (2) on the bottom of the trunk and insert all the bolts, place the plates (7) by (D) against the
underside of the bottom of the trunk. Place now the tow bar on points (A) and (B). Insert by (C) the
distance tubes (5) through the drillings in the underside of the chassis beams, bring now the mounting
pieces (6) at the left and (8) at the right matching points (E) of the tow bar and point (C) against the
underside of the chassis. Tighten all bolts firmly on (see tension).
5. Make an incision in the underside of the bumper according to figur 3, replace the bumper on the vehicle,
re-assemble also the exhaust.
6. Assemble the ball together with the security shackle and the socket holder, tighten firmly (see tension).
Remark : for vehicles which are executed with a Crossover bumper, filling up piece (9) has to be used.
7. Make an incision in the plastic side-wall coverings according to figur 2 so that these can be replaced in
the trunk.
Disassemblage of the bumper
- 2 small screws on the entrance of the trunk
- 2x1 small screw on the wheel case
- 2x3 plastic plugs on the wheel case
- 2 plastic plugs at te bottom of the bumper
- 2 small screws at the bottom of the bumper
Note
Please consult your cardealer or owners manual for the maximal permissable towing mass.
Remove any bitumen coating on the fastening position for the tow bar.
When drilling, be carefull not to damage any brake lines, electrical wiring or fuel lines.
