Planting black mangroves
First, lay the fleece into the Mangrove Box 3178 and
fill with coral sand (1) with a grain size of 1 to 3 mm
(.039 to .118 in.) until the filling height of the sand is a
bit over the blue outside water line (2). When placing
the sapling, the sand should be about 5 to 10 mm
(.19 to .39 in.) above the water level (2). Caution –
when introducing into the aquarium water, the sand
(1) may settle; top up a bit, if and when required.
Plant the sapling or the seed of the black mangrove
(Avicennia germinans) in such a way that the
tip (3) points upwards. Upon delivery, the sapling
may have different sizes – see illustrations. The
Mangrove 3178.500 must only be placed in
saltwater. When placed in fresh water the seed or
the sapling will die.
For a good growth of mangroves, the room
temperature should not drop below 10 degrees
Celsius.
Mangroves thrive best in natural air humidity which
is given above an aquarium as a rule. Mangroves
exude an excess of salt through their leaves. Spray
the mangrove once a week with fresh water or
expect that the mangrove will shed leaves that have
an excess of salt accumulation.

Positionnez tout d'abord le feutre dans le fond de
Mangrove Box 3178 puis remplissez de sable de
corail (1) ayant une granulométrie comprise entre
1 et 3mm, jusqu'au-dessus de la ligne d'eau (2) à
l'extérieur du conteneur. Lors de la mise en place
de la plante, le sable doit se retrouver de 5 à 10mm
au-dessus du niveau d'eau de l'aquarium (2).
Attention, il est possible que le sable s'affaisse lors
de la mise en place dans l'aquarium, complétez
éventuellement.
Plantez la semence Black Mangrove (Avicennia
germinans) pointe vers le haut (3). Une jeune
pousse peut avoir différents stades de croissance
(voir illustrations). Black Mangrove 3178.500 ne
doit être utilisé qu'en eau de mer, ne survit pas en
eau douce !
Pour une bonne croissance, la température ambiante
ne doit pas descendre en-dessous de 10°C.
Black mangrove pousse de manière normale
dans l'humidité ambiante d'un aquarium. La
plante élimine son excédent de sel par les feuilles,
nous vous conseillons pour cela de les vaporiser
abondamment une fois par semaine. Dans le cas
contraire, la plante élimine d'elle-même la feuille
devenue trop salée.
