5 Audio Connections
GB
Always switch off the active speaker system before
making any connections!
5.1 Inputs MIC IN and AUX IN
As audio sources, a microphone and an audio unit with
line output level (e. g. CD player, cassette recorder,
radio) may be connected: connect the microphone to
the 6.3 mm jack MIC IN (13) and the audio unit to the
3.5 mm jack AUX IN (15).
5.2 Output AUX OUT
The 3.5 mm jack AUX OUT (14) allows to connect, for
example, an audio recorder or another active speaker
system for PA applications. The mixed signal adjusted
with the individual volume controls is available here.
The controls MASTER (9) and TONE (10) will not
affect the signal at the output AUX OUT.
Note: It will be possible to set up several active speaker sys-
tems TXA-150 or TXA-150USB to reproduce the signal of a
single transmitter (e. g. transmitter TXA-800ST or transmit-
ting module of the active speaker system TXA-802C) without
additional cabling.
6 Operation
CAUTION Never adjust the active speaker system
to a very high volume. Permanent high
volumes may damage your hearing!
The human ear will get accustomed to
high volumes which do not seem to be
that high after some time. Therefore, do
not further increase a high volume after
getting used to it.
1) Prior to switching on, set the control MASTER (9) to
"MIN".
2) Set the POWER switch (17) to "ON". It will light up
during operation. If it does not light up during bat-
tery operation (battery discharged) or if it starts
flashing (battery almost discharged), charge the
battery → see chapter 4.
3) Advance the MASTER control (9) for the overall vol-
ume to such an extent that the subsequent adjust-
ments can be heard well via the speaker.
4) Switch on the desired signal sources and mix their
signals with the corresponding volume controls or
fade them in and out as required (always completely
turn back the controls of any signal sources not used):
– the volume control (7) for the receiving module
→ also see chapter 6.1
– the volume control MIC (12) for the microphone
at the input MIC IN (13)
– the volume control AUX IN (11) for the audio unit
at the input AUX IN (15)
– the VOLUME control (i) for the USB/SD card
player (8) [for model TXA-150USB only] → also
see chapter 6.2
5) Adjust the sound with the TONE control (10).
10
6) Adjust the definitive volume for the active speaker
system with the MASTER control (9).
7) After operation, set the POWER switch (17) to
"OFF". The switch illumination will be extinguished.
6.1 Receiving module
1) To switch on the receiving module, advance the on-
off switch and volume control (7) from the position
OFF. The LED A/B (2) will show red or green
depending on the receiving antenna A or B that is
currently active.
2) Leave the transmitter switched off for the time being.
First set the receiving module to a transmission
channel which is not used and free of interference:
1. Press the button SET (5). The channel indication
on the display (1) will start flashing.
2. As long as the channel indication keeps flashing
(for approx. 10 seconds), the channel can be
selected with the arrow keys: key
selection "up"; key
3. Confirm the channel selection with the button SET.
(If the selection is not confirmed within 10 sec onds
with the button SET, the unit will return to the
channel previously adjusted.)
If the LED RX (3) lights up after channel selection
when the transmitter is switched off, interfering sig-
nals or signals from other transmitters are received
on this channel. In this case, set the receiving mod-
ule to a different channel.
3) It is possible to shortly indicate the radio frequency
for the channel adjusted: As long as the key
is kept pressed, the display will show the frequency
instead of the channel. (In chapter 7.1 you will find
an overview listing which channel is assigned to
which frequency.)
4) If the transmitter is switched on and set to the same
channel as the receiving module, the LED RX (3)
will light up to indicate reception of a radio signal.
The LED AF (4) will light up when the transmitter
transmits an audio signal of sufficient level on the
radio frequency adjusted.
5) Adjust the desired volume for the audio signal
received with the control (7).
6.2 USB/SD card player
The player allows to replay compressed audio files,
created with the current standard compression proce-
dure, from USB memory sticks and SD cards with a
maximum storage capacity of 2 GB.
1) Insert the storage medium into the corresponding
connection:
– Insert a USB memory stick into the port
– Insert an SD card (notched cor-
ner pointing to the right and
towards the unit → see figure on
the right) so far into the slot SD
CARD (j) until it engages.
for channel
for channel selection "down".
(for TXA-150USB only)
