Fitting instructions
1)
Disassemble the bumper, the buffer beam and the towing ring, permanently remove the supports of the
aluminium buffer beam. Remove the exhaust damper out of the filling up rubbers and let this one down.
Remove the side-wall and the floor-covering in the trunk.
2)
Place the tow bar with (A) and (B) against the bottom of the chassis beam on the provided screw-thread
holes, insert the bolts and washers by (A) but do not tighten yet.
3)
Place the mounting piecees (6) at the right and (7) at the left with (I) and (G) on the provided screw-
thread holes where the aluminium buffer beam was fixed, (F) matches the drillings in the side-pieces of
the tow bar. Insert the bolts and the washers without tightening.
4)
Remove the rubber tops (see photo 1 + 2) in the extreme corners of the vehicle. Place the pieces (2) at the
right and (1) at the left with (B) against the bottom of the tow bar matching with (B) of the tow bar, (C)
matches the provided screw-thread holes in the exterior side-wall of the chassis beam. (D) mathes the
provided drilling in the base plate. Insert the bolts and washers by (B) and (C), re-assemble the towing
ring at the left side but do not tighten the bolts.
5)
Place the plates (3) and (4) (see photo 3 + 4) inside the trunk with points (D) and (E) on the provided
drillings. Place by (E) plates (5) at the bottom of the vehicle (see photo 5 + 6). Insert the bolts and
tighten everything firmly (see tension).
6)
Assemble the pedestal of the ball together with the socket plate holder P04 and the towing ring. Insert the
bolts and tighten everything firmly (see tension).
7)
Fix the aluminium buffer beam on points (H) of the tow bar, insert the bolts and tighten firmly.
Re-assemble the bumper.
Disassemblage of the bumper
- 2x2 screws in the wheel cases
- 2 screw at the bottom of the wheel case
- 5 plastic plugs at the entrance of the trunk
- 2 plastic plugs at the bottom of the bumper
- 1 screw behind the right plastic coach work panel on the backdoor (see photo 7)
- pull the sides to the outside and push the bumper backwards
Note
Please consult your cardealer or owners manual for the maximal permissable towing mass.
Remove any bitumen coating on the fastening position for the tow bar.
When drilling, be carefull not to damage any brake lines, electrical wiring or fuel lines.
