3. Inflating the cuff and measuring

Switch on the device by pressing the Start/Stop
button. The entire display lights up (Fig. 1). This is
also how you can check to make sure the device is in
good working order.
The "0" flashes and when the cuff is completely
deflated, this is confirmed with five short beeps. The
cuff is inflated to the necessary pressure (Fig. 2).
Then the measuring process proper starts with defla-
tion and you will hear a slight hiss. The "♥"symbol
in the display flashes and there is a beep for pulse
rate (Fig. 3). The amplitude of each pressure wave
is measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg). The
measurements of systole, diastole and pulse are in-
dicated in the display (Fig. 4). The cuff is completely
deflated. The end of measurement is indicated by a
long beep.

Important:
Irregular, double or absent pulse signals may be an
indication of cardiac arrhythmia (irregular heart-
beat)".
The inflation and measuring procedure can be discon-
tinued by pressing the Start/Stop button. The device
stops inflation and deflates the cuff.

4. Calling up the memory

The device has a memory which makes it possible to
display the last 30 blood pressure levels measured.
If you press the memory button, the last figure meas-
ured appears (MR30). If you press again, you can
call up the previous 29 measurements (MR29, MR28
... MR1) one after the other.
After the 30th measurement the oldest measure-
ment (MR1) is deleted and replaced by the current
measurement.
Record the figures saved in your blood pressure
pass. Over a lengthy period this will provide you with
a better picture of your blood pressure situation,
which you may wish to discuss with your doctor.
