9. Summary of darkfield observation procedures
Set the main swith to "ON" and adjust light intensity
Place a slide on the stage
Insert 10x objective into the light path
Focus the specimen
Lower the condenser, place a drop of oil on the condenser
front lens and raise the condenser to its original position
Swing nosepiece into an intermediate position between 40X
and 100X and put a drop of oil on the slide
Insert 100X into the light path and focus the specimen
Rotate iris diaphragm of 100X objective to obtain darkfield
Adjust interpupillary distance
Adjust diopter
Center optical axis
Adjust brightness
