ADJUSTING BLADE PARALLEL TO
THE MITER GAUGE SLOTS
The blade was adjusted parallel to the miter
gauge slots at the factory . In order to insure
accurate cuts and help prevent kickback,
this adjustment should be rechecked . If ad-
justment is necessary, follow the steps
below .
To prevent personal injury,
WARNING
always dis con nect the plug
from the power source before mak ing any
adjustments.
1 . Turn elevation wheel and raise blade as
high as it will go .
2 . Select a point on the body of the saw
blade that is set to the left when viewing
the blade from the front of saw, and mark
with a pencil (Fig . 25) .
3 . Place the base of a combination square
against the edge of the miter gauge slot,
and extend the sliding rule of the square
so it just touches the marked point on the
body of the saw blade at the rear of the
table .
4 . Rotate the blade and check the same
marked point of the saw blade at the rear of
the table (Fig . 25) .
5 . If the front and rear measurements,
shown in Figure 25 are not identical,
identify the side with the gap . Use the
hex wrench supplied with your saw to
loosen the two alignment bolts located on
the side with the gap . There are four
alignment bolts located under the front
and rear of the table top of the tool
(Fig . 26 & 27) . Carefully move the under
carriage containing the saw blade until
the blade is parallel to the miter slot, and
securely tighten the two bolts . If the par-
allelism is still off, loosen all four bolts
and repeat .
