11. Defrosting and water discharge (Fig. 6)

The Ulm 3 line of refrigerated cabinets, depending on the model, is equipped with two defrosting
systems:
- Off-cycle defrosting (with stoppage of the refrigeration process);
- (OPTIONAL) Electric defrosting (with stoppage of the refrigeration process and use of an armored
electric heating element in the evaporator).
To drain the defrosting water follow the procedure below:
- provide a slightly sloping drainage in the floor (Rif. 16);
- install a drain-trap (supplied with the cabinet) between the cabinet draining duct and the floor
connection;
- hermetically seal the water draining area of the floor.
This procedure prevents the risks of bad smell inside the refrigerated cabinet, dispersion of
refrigerated air and possible malfunctioning due to humidity.
- Cut the LF type trap head on the side where you want the water to drain out Rif. A.
Note:
Periodically have a qualified installer check that the hydraulic connections are in a perfect
state.

12. Illumination (Fig. 4)

The internal lighting of the cabinet is provided by fluorescent lights.
The light switch is on top of the cabinet (Rif. 6).

13. Night blind - option - (Fig. 7)

To prevent needless dispersion of the cold and ensure the hygiene of the goods during the night,
optional night blinds are available in manual (Rif. 17) or electric (Rif. 18) versions.
The movement of the night blind, if electrised, is regulated during factory testing.
For the correct operation of the cabinet, the lower end of the night blind should be kept at a distance
of approx. 10 mm from the air intake opening, and should not reach or exceed this limit.
The night blind switch is located next to the light switch (Fig. 4 Rif. 5).
Installation of motor driven night shades – multiplex version
1 - Insert the 90° stop (7) on the right turning it to block it in the rectangular slot (A) on the supporting
bracket.
2 - Insert the left multiplexed shade on the right one using the pin (B).
3 - Insert the 90° stop on the left in the bracket housing and turn to block it in the rectangular slot (A)
on the supporting bracket.

14. Lamp replacement (Fig. 4 Rif. 9)

To replace the lamp, follow the instructions below:
- Disconnect power to the cabinet;
- Turn the protective case and the lamp by approx. 90° (until it clicks) (Rif. 9) and extract them from
the lamp base by pulling them downwards;
- Remove the caps, pull out the lamp from the protective case and replace it with a new one;
- Restore the caps, making sure that the contacts are correctly housed in the relevant holes;
- Reposition the lamp assembly and the case in the lamp base and turn it by 90° until it clicks;
- Restore power supply.

15. Multiplexing of cabinets (Fig. 5 Rif. 14 - Rif. 15)

To multiplexing two or more cabinets, follow the instructions below:
- Remove the endwalls;
- Position the cabinets side-to-side;
- Remove the back panels to gain access to the rod holes;
