4.6. Audio Setting

The radio will automatically switch between Mono and Stereo, depending on the quality of the signal
being received. You can override this function and switch between "Mono only? Yes/No".
Press: MENU > Audio Setting > Mono only? > Yes/No

5. Aux In Mode

Aux In mode plays audio from an external source such as an MP3 player, mobile phone, etc.
To play audio with Aux In mode:
Turn the volume low on both DR 871 and (if adjustable) the audio source device.
Connect the external audio source to the AUX-IN 3.5mm stereo socket.
Press MENU > AUX > OK.
Adjust the volume of DR 871 (and if necessary the audio source device) as required.

6. System Settings

Press MENU to select between Equalizer, Backlight, Time/Date, Alarms, Sleep, Factory Reset,
Info or Language.

6.1. Equalizer

Default Equalizer is Rock, you may change to Normal, Classic, Pop, Jazz, Flat, Movie or News.

6.2. Backlight

Configure the backlight brightness of the display.
If you select Timeout you can select the level to which the display is dimmed down when the ra-
dio enters the Standby mode or when the radio gets no key input for 10 20, 30,45, 60, 90, 120 or
180 seconds (Timeout).
The On options keeps the display always illuminated.
You can adjust the Brightness (Level) in three steps (Low, Medium, High).

6.3. Time/Date Setup

Set Time/Date: Press p/q to adjust and OK to move to the next digit.
Set Format: Chose time format display as 12 Hour or 24 Hour (default) and press OK to
confirm.
Set Auto Update: You can chose if the radio shall update the time/date automatically or not.
Select Update from Radio or No Update and press OK to confirm.
