3. DAB/DAB+ Radio Mode

DAB radio mode receives DAB/DAB+ digital radio and displays information about the station. To
enter DAB mode, press MODE and use the ▲/▼ to choose and press OK.

For optimal performance make sure that the DAB/FM antenna is correctly adjusted for length and
direction to get the maximum signal strength and the best possible sound quality (also for FM).

3.1. Scanning for stations

The first time you select DAB radio mode, or if the station list is empty, DR 871 automatically
performs a full scan to search for available stations.
Once the scan is complete, the radio shows a list of available stations
If you wish to do a DAB full scan later again, select SCAN on the remote control or MENU > Full
Scan > OK. Please note that the station list (not the favourites) will be overwritten.

3.2. Selecting Stations

To change a station, press TUNE+ or TUNE- , select a station and press OK. Once selected, the
station starts playing and the screen shows information about the station, track or show.

3.3. Preset a Station

The DR 871 has 10 preset (favourites) memories for DAB. In order to save a DAB station, press
and hold
or you can use Menu > Preset Store > OK. Then select the memory with ▲/▼ and
press OK.
You can also easily store a station on a specific preset number by pressing and holding 1-10 key
on the remote control.

3.4. Preset Recall

Short press
to open the favourite list. You can also select MENU > Preset Recall > OK, then
press ▲/▼ to select the station and press OK.
You can also easily recall a preset station by pressing 1-10 on the remote control directly.

3.5. Manual Tune

As well as the normal method of scanning and selecting stations from a list, you can also tune
manually to a particular channel/frequency. To manually tune, select MENU > Manual Tune > OK
to select with ▲/▼ a particular channel/frequency and press OK to confirm.
3.6. DAB Display Information
While the DAB radio is playing, the display shows information about the current song. To view fur-
ther information, press INFO. Each time you press INFO, another set of information is displayed,
cycling through DLS text, signal strength, programme type, ensemble name, channel number/fre-
quency, signal error rate, bit rate/codec, time and date.
