Lubrication of bearings
Depending on the type of motor:
- either the bearings are greased for life;
- or the motor has grease fittings.
In the latter case, grease them moderately every 500 hours
with SKF 328 or similar grease. Also grease the pump shaft
bearing.
The mechanical seal needs no maintenance. It must never be
operated dry, even momentarily.

8 . OPERATING TROUBLE

ATTENTION !
Switch the pumps OFF before doing any work on them.
TROUBLES
8.1 NO DELIVERY FROM
a) Internal units obstructed by foreign
PUMP
bodies:
b) Pipe obstructed at suction:
c) Intake of air at suction:
d) Pump is no longer primed:
e) Suction pressure too low (cavitation),
generally accompanied by noise:
f) Pump turns the wrong way:
g) Supply voltage to motor too low:
8.2 THE PUMP VIBRATES
a) Loose on base:

a) Replace the pump.
b) Remove the pump and correct what is wrong.
c) Replace it.
d) Bleed.
e) Reverse the direction of rotation by interchanging two wires on the motor terminal
block.
a) Check the current with an ammeter, or set to the value marked on the motor data
plate.
b) Check the sections of the conductors of the cable.
c) Check it; replace the cable if necessary.
