7 MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Maintenance
If actuators is correctly mounted and sealed, no special maintenance is required. Check once a year
function of motor and make sure that switch compartment is condensation free. If environment is
humid, we recommend to connect the anti-condensation heater resistance, thus protecting electric
parts from alteration (On EZ LOGIC, heater resistance function is included in the power board).
Actuators are lubricated for lifetime.
Storage
The actuators includes electric equipment as well as grease lubricated gear stages. In spite of the
weatherproof enclosure, oxydising, jamming and other alterations are possible if actuator is not
correctly stored.
Actuator stored in a warehouse
a) The actuators should be stored under shelter, in a clean, dry place and protected from successive
changes in temperature. Avoid storage on the floor.
b) Supply the heating resistor in the case of presence of moisture.
c) Check that plastic plugs of the cable entries are well in place. Ensure the tightness of covers and
enclosures containing electrical components.
Actuator installed but waiting for electrical connection
If there is a long wait between the actuator mounting and electrical connection works:
a) Check the proper sealing of the cable-glands electrical boxes,
b) Cover the motor with plastic film,
c) Supply the heating resistor in the case of presence of moisture.
Storage of actuators equipped with electronic components
Long term storage of electronic components which are not in service increases the malfunction risk. This
practice is therefore highly unadvisable.
Control after storage
a) Check visually the electrical components,,
b) Operate manually the switches to check the proper mechanical work,
c) Operate apparatus manually,
d) Carry out the commissioning of the actuator according to the instructions attached to each device
20
EZ25 to EZ1000 actuators are equipped with a torque limiter.
IMPORTANT :
With EZ SWITCH, the Torque limiter give pulse contact at the maximum
possible torque.
After stopping the motor, the information is not mechanically memo-
rized. Therefore store information via an self-maintained relay (see
example of cable at the end of document).
On EZ LOGIC, the torque is measured by a strain gauge. The torque
information memorized by the control board.
