Application
The Bus Video Indoor Station
BVI 740-0 can only be used in
conjunction with the Siedle Multi
system.
Typical applications for the station
include:
• Offices and commercial premises
• Mixed-use buildings
• Large-scale residential complexes
• Guarded properties
• Apartment buildings
• Homes for the elderly
• Care homes
• Residential complexes for the
disabled
The simple 10-core bus installation
method used cuts out the need for
the unmanageable number of call
lines frequently encountered in door
loudspeakers with multi systems
serving large residential complexes,
business premises etc. A 75 Ω
coaxial cable is additionally required
for the video signal.
Up to 500 system users, of which up
to 254 can be door loudspeakers,
can be connected directly to this bus
line without the need for
supplementary devices. To transmit
and distribute the video link, either
the deluxe single-channel or the
multiple-channel video system is
available.
One system controller SCO 740-... is
required per system for configura-
tion and archiving the BVI 740-...
units, and also for servicing
purposes.
System extensions are possible
without problems at any point of the
line network. All that is needed is for
the coaxial cable to be routed from
the nearest video distributor point to
the BVI.
Due to the comprehensive
performance features available and
the installation simplicity, it makes
sense to use the Siedle Multi system
even in smaller installations.
There are two different user-
oriented configuration variants
available.
In conjunction with one or more in-
house telephone switchboards, door
loudspeakers with direct call buttons
or code input keypads, control units
and the Siedle Video Control system,
it is possible to implement
convenient door access and
surveillance systems as well as
emergency call systems.
Performance features
• Microcomputer-controlled
decentral system
• Connection facility to 2 video
systems
Single-channel video with max. 500
users or
Multiple-channel video with max.
400 users
divisible into up to 15 groups
• 2 global programmable speech
channels, or 1 global speech channel
and up to 15 local speech channels
• 4" monochrome monitor
• Door release and light button
• 2 programmable call and control
buttons as well as an illuminated
display.
• 2 inputs and 1 relay output, with
programmable functions.
• Audio privacy function,
programmable call silencing
• Call volume control, brightness
and contrast regulation
• Up to 4 devices with the same call
number can be switched in parallel
• Direct, open duplex intercom
function
• Connection by means of screw
terminals
• System voltage 24 V DC
Installation
Bus installation can be performed
using any optional formation. The
coaxial connection to the call
stations is performed in star
formation to the video control
devices and distributors. For this
reason, we generally recommend
using side circuit and riser systems
with storey distributors.
Pure star-formation or loop
networks are not admissible.
Conductor material
Twisted-pair shielded cable JY(St)Y
with 0.8 mm dia. must be used for
all installation material. Cores 1 and
2 as well as 15 (+VP) and 16 (0V)
for the audio and video supply
generally have to be doubled in side
circuits. For video transmission, a
low-attenuation coaxial cable with
75 Ω must be additionally used.
Range
With a 0.8 mm core diameter, a
maximum range of 800 / 1000 m
results. The range for video
application depends on the
attenuation of the used coaxial
cable.
Conductor routing
In accordance with the safety
regulations for telecommunication
systems VDE 0800, a distance of 10
cm must be adhered to from live
conductors. Parallel laying over long
distances alongside high-frequency
carrying or highly noise-
contaminated conductors should
also be avoided. In general, always
adhere to the planning and
installation instructions for Multi
Systems.
Power supply
System telephones are supplied with
24 V DC (22-28 V). The supply
voltage at the device must never
drop below 22 V when under load.

Important notes
• Electrical appliances may only be
mounted and installed by qualified
electricians.
• The BVI 740-... can only be used in
conjunction with Multi.
• If an electrically adjustable camera
is used, the BVI 740 and HT 740
should not be used together with
MOM/MOC 711 in one and the
same system.
• It is not possible to control the
camera from the BVI 740-... .
• The system cannot be retrofitted
with a video memory module.
