Mounting

The devices are designed for
wall mounting. A 55 mm junction
box must always be provided under
cable entry for the system telephone
to provide a terminal mounting and
stowage space.
!
The telephone contains sensi-
tive electronic components.
When the device is opened, these
are freely accessible. As a result, the
utmost care must be taken during
the installation process.
Inappropriate handling can result in
damage or destruction of the device.
2 Open the housing by exerting light
pressure on the concealed spring
catches using a size "1" screwdriver
through the release holes on the
right-hand side.
3 Hinge open the upper part of the
housing to the left, pull off the
ribbon cable with the non-
interchangeable plug "S1" from the
motherboard and remove the top of
the housing.
4 Thread the connecting cables into
the bottom part of the housing and
fasten this housing section to the
wall using 4 screws.

Basic configuration 6
Commissioning
Following correct mounting and
installation, an address is set at each
device while disconnected from
the mains (see point 10).
A maximum of 4 devices can be
assigned the same address, meaning
that these devices then have to be
switched in parallel. The system is
switched centrally and in the as-
delivered status (basic configuration)
it is ready for operation after a short
period, max. 3 minutes.
Defining the configuration
In the as-delivered status, basic
configuration 6 is always defined. A
configuration cannot be deleted but
only overwritten. Within a system,
devices (BVI 740-...) can be equipped
with different configurations.,
whereby the performance scope is
always oriented to the lowest
configuration stage.
Programming switch position
When carrying out manual
programming at the slide switch, set
switch 10 to "On" for programming
and then back to "Off" to return to
the operating mode.
If there is an SCO 740-0 integrated
in the system, the switch must
always be set to "Off". Mixed
operation is only possible, however,
between configurations 1-3 or 4-6.
Changing the basic configuration
The 2 defined basic configurations
can be disabled without any
additional aids. With the slide
switch 10 set to ON, simultaneously
hold down the light / door release
buttons
, hold them down
and at the same time press
the
button for configuration 2
or the
button for configuration
6. After around 3 seconds, the LED
display lights up briefly.This is
confirmation of the configuration for
this device. An acknowledgement
tone sounds at the same time in the
handset.
As with the HT 740-..., the
programming is based on 6 basic
configurations. However, these can
only be accessed and modified with
the aid of the SCO 740-... and the
relevant configuration software. The
basic configurations 2 and 6 can be
set using the keypad.
!
The sliding switch must
be switched off again after
configuration.
System configuration
With the aid of the system
configuration function, all the
connected BVI 740-... units can be
individually configured with all the
combination possibilities of the
system. The basic requirement for
system configuration is always a
system controller SCO 740-0. Using
a PRI 602-0, it is possible to connect
a PC which simplifies configuration
and which can be used to read out,
store and print out the configuration
of all the system users. For more
details, refer to the programming
instructions for the SCO 740-0.
