Install batteries in the lumbar system
1. Locate the zippered pocket on the back of the body pad in the left shoulder area (Fig.15).
2. Unzip the pocket and remove the foam square (Fig.16).
3. Lift the edge of the black battery compartment that is closest to the edge of the pad upward (do not pull
up on the edge of the box from which the wiring is visible). (Fig.17).

4. If the screw is not exposed, flip the battery compartment over (without disturbing the wiring) to expose the
screw, then use the provided screwdriver to remove the screw (Fig.18).
5. Remove the battery compartment cover, then install four AA alkaline batteries (not provided) (Fig.19).
6. Replace the battery compartment cover, then replace the screw to secure it.
7. IMPORTANT: Locate the power switch on the opposite side of the battery compartment, and switch it to ON.
8. Tuck the battery compartment back into the foam cavity.
9. Replace the foam square to cover the battery box.
10. Close the zippered pocket.
