5. Safety
5.2 Special safety instructions

Work with the linear unit may only take place in accordance with these instructions.
•
The unit may only be opened by authorised technical staff. If there is a fault with the linear
unit, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer or send this linear unit for repair.
•
An electrical drive may only be connected to this linear unit by the appropriate technical staff,
taking into account local connection conditions and regulations (e.g. DIN, VDE).
•
Motor current monitoring for enhanced safety: Monitoring the motor current enables you to
detect faults immediately and prevent hazards originating from the system.
•
Whenever you are working, wear the necessary individual protection equipment (IPE).
•
Independent conversions of or changes to the linear unit are not permitted on safety grounds.
•
If the linear unit is installed in an oblique or vertical position, the guidance slides are to be
secured against slipping during work (installation, dismantling, maintenance, servicing).
•
The transverse forces, torques and speeds laid down by RK Rose+Krieger GmbH for this linear
unit must not be exceeded. In dynamic operation, this must be considered for the design: Fx

Following a collision, the toothed belt, ball rail guide and trolley have to be exchanged - even
if there is no visible damage. Spare parts information is to be taken from the spare parts list
for the relevant linear unit type.
•
Following a collision, the tapped spindle, guide nut, track rail guide and guide carriage have
to be replaced – even if there is no visible damage. Spare parts information is to be taken from
the spare parts list for the relevant linear unit type.
•
The maker's plate must remain legible. It must be possible to call up the data effortlessly at
any time.
•
The danger symbols marking danger areas on the product provide safety.
•
Safety-related devices must be checked at least once a year for serviceability, damage and
completeness.
