Technical Data:
The tested D-value is 17,82 kN. This corresponds, for example, to a towed weight of 3000 kg and a gross vehicle weight
of 4600 kg. The information contained in the vehicle title document/registration certificate is definitive. The tested D
value must not be exceeded. The permissible nose weight must not exceed 120 kg.
A towing hitch or a shackle-type towing device may be mounted on the trailer bracket. During installation of the shackle-
type towing device, the clearance dimensions specified in Annex 1 of the accident prevention regulations "Vehicles"
(VGB 12) must be observed.
The trailer bracket must be used only for towing trailers with an appropriate towing bracket. If installation of the
trailer bracket means that the towing eye has to be removed, the trailer bracket serves as a substitute, provided
that the permissible trailer load is not exceeded and the trailer is to be towed on normal roads.
Note 1:
The trailer bracket is a safety component and must only be mounted by qualified personnel. If spare
parts are required, these too must only be installed by qualified personnel on the undamaged original
component. Any alteration or conversion to the trailer bracket is impermissible. Moreover, such
alteration or conversion would result in cancellation of type approval.
Note 2:
Remove insulating compound and underseal from vehicle - if applicable - in area of contact surface
of trailer bracket. Coat bare areas of bodywork with anti-corrosion paint.
Note 3:
When driving with a trailer, follow the instructions in the vehicle manufacturer's Owner's Manual.
Note 4:
The following components are optional for this trailer bracket:
1.) Ball plate, model 329 050 (normal position of ball central point)
2.) Ball plate, model 329 061/329 062 (approx. 40 mm lower than for 329 050)
3.) Ball plate, model 329 042 (four-wheel drive)
4.) Shackle-type towing device, model 243 U 115 EL
Ball plate and automatic shackle-type towing device can also be mounted in conjunction with a
towing device quick-change system.
