sor.
Carbon monoxide can cause
severe nausea, fainting or death.
Do not operate unit inside a closed building
or a poorly ventilated area.
Never operate compressor with-
out a beltguard. Compressors can
start automatically without warn-
ing. Personal injury or property damage
could occur from contact with moving parts.
9. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewelry that will get caught in the
moving parts of the unit.
Compressor parts may be hot
even if the unit is stopped.
10. Keep fingers away from a running
compressor; fast moving and hot
parts will cause injury and/or burns.
11. If the equipment should start to
vibrate abnormally, STOP the
engine/motor and check immediate-
ly for the cause. Vibration is general-
ly a warning of trouble.
12. To reduce fire hazard, keep engine/
motor exterior free of oil, solvent, or
excessive grease.
The DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION, and NOTICE
notifications and instructions in this manual cannot
cover all possible conditions and situations that may
occur. It must be understood by the operator that
caution is a factor which cannot be built into this
product, but must be supplied by the operator.

paint and other accumulations.
Assembly
AIR FILTER
Wrap PTFE thread sealant tape on the
pipe threads of the filter and screw into
head intake flange.

ADDITIONAL HARDWARE NEEDED
Purchase regulator, shutoff valve and
electrical and mounting hardware that
has a minimum rating that exceeds the
maximum working pressure of the
compressor.
BREATHER
Remove cap from oil fill plug. Istall
breather.
HOSE
Purchase a 3/8" hose (1/4" min.) that
has a minimum rating that exceeds the
maximum working pressure of the com-
pressor.
Keep hoses away from sharp objects,
chemical spills, oil solvents and wet
floors which can damage hose. Do not
operate compressor with damaged
hose(s) or after the compressor or
attachments have been dropped or
damaged. Notify the nearest authorized
service facility for examination, repair,
or other adjustment.
OIL DRAIN EXTENSION
Some models include an oil drain exten-
sion and cap (found with the owner's
manual). Install the oil drain extension
and cap before adding oil to the pump.
To avoid oil leaks, it is highly recom-
Never remove or
mended to apply PTFE thread sealant
attempt to adjust
tape or plumber's putty to the threads
on each end of the oil drain extension.
Screw the cap onto one end of the
extension. Remove the oil drain plug
from the base of the pump and install
the oil drain extension (See Figure 2).
LUBRICATION
lubrication instructions before operating
compressor.
Ensure oil drain extension has been
installed (if included) then remove the
breather and fill pump with approxi-
mately 8.5 oz. of SAE 30 ISO 100 oil
(Model 1WG49). Do not use motor oil
or a multi-viscosity oil such as 10W-30.
Proper oil fill is illustrated in Figure 2.

Installation
LOCATION
It is extremely important to install the
compressor in a clean, well ventilated
area where the surrounding air temper-
ature will not be more than 100˚ F.
A minimum clearance of 18 inches
between the compressor flywheel or
fan and a wall is required because
objects could obstruct air flow.
Do not locate the compressor air inlet
near steam, paint spray, sandblast areas
or any other source of contamination.
MOUNTING
The unit must be securely bolted to a
concrete floor or on a separate con-
crete foundation. Vibration isolators
should be used between the mounting
brackets and the floor. When using iso-
lator pads, do not draw bolts tight.
