4. Technical data
Operating pressure
max. 630 bar
Pressure force
approx. 80 kN
Weight
8,4 lbs
5. Code of practice
5.1 Die sets
It is absolutely essential tht the die sets and cable lugs, respectively connectors are of the same cross sections an types.
Falce allocation will lead to insufficient electrical and mechanical connections between cable lug/connector and cable.
Special dies are available on request.
5.1.1 Insertion/removal of die sets
1.
Insert two die sets into the C-head - one after the other. The crimping forms must face each other.
2.
Tighten the two die sets on the support pins. Verify the tight position of the die sets before use.
3.
To remove the die sets, use a small screwdriver and carefully lift the die sets by pushing the screw driver head in-between C-head and die.
Carefully lift up the die.
5.2 Hydraulic connection
The cylinder for crimping cable lugs is equipped with a quick release coupling which fits häwa pumps. Before connecting the pump and the cylinder,
ensure that they are both clean. Connection may only be effected without pressure. After uncoupling the cylinder, put on protection caps.
Quick release coupling
5.3 Mode of operation: Crimping
Only a hydraulic pump may be used for this tool that is designed for it. Refer also to the operating instructions of the hydraulic pump. The dies must be
designed for this crimping tool as well as the connectors. Thy hydraulic crimping tool 240 must be connected correctly to the high-pressure hose.
5.3.1 Preparation of cable
1.
The cable has to be cut perpendicular to the connector
2.
Remove the insulation of the cable based on the ferrule length (dimension a) of the cable lug / connector plus 10%
3.
Clean the ends throughly of dirt and oxide residue
4.
Sector-shaped conductors have to be pre-rounded before crimping
