E Instructions
•
Read the manual before using the device.
•
The automatic feed dispenser is only suitable for dry feed (dia-
meter 5 – 15 mm).
•
Only use the feed dispenser with feed container and closed lid.
•
Do not use the device with puppies or kittens under the age of 7
months.
•
Place the automatic feed dispenser on a level surface.
•
The automatic feed dispenser is only suitable for indoor use.
•
Do not allow your pet to gnaw on the device or the cable. Use a
cabel guard if necessary.
•
Additional information on the use of IoT devices can be found
at the end of this manual.
Before using the feed dispenser
1. Plug the automatic feed dispenser into a power outlet with the
mains plug. Optionally, you can put in 3 x D Mono batteries to
ensure the device continues working in case of power failure.
However, online access via the app is only possible in mains
operation.
2. Switch on the main power switch at the bottom so that POWER
shows a red light.
3. The lid is released by pressing the button on the lock. The feed
container as well as the control panel are underneath the lid.
4. Fill the automatic feed dispenser with dry feed. Insert the bowl
including the stainless steel tray into the bottom of the auto-
matic feed dispenser. By pressing the buttons next to the bowl
it can be inserted or removed again.
5. For control and programming of the automatic feed dispenser,
download the app "Tuya Smart" to your smartphone or tablet.
By scanning the QR code, you go directly to the download.
How to Register
Open the app and click on REGISTER to create an account.
Coupling the Device
In the next step, the automatic feed dispenser is connected to the
internet and coupled to your smartphone. Please be sure to fol-
low the following instructions to ensure trouble-free connection:
•
The automatic feed dispenser should be place near (max. di-
stance 3 m) your WLAN router while the connection is establis-
hed. At the same time, your smartphone should be quite close
(max. distance 1 m) to the feed dispenser.
•
Ensure that your smartphone is connected to the WLAN and
has a high signal level.
•
Please note that coupling the automatic feed dispenser only
works at the frequency of 2.4 GHz. If you have a WLAN router
that sends out 2.4 GHz as well as 5 GHz, you have to make sure
you choose the right frequency band.
4
•
There are two options for coupling the device: EZ mode and AP
mode. Some dual-band routers use a joint SSID (name of the
network) for both frequencies. If that is the case, the coupling
in EZ mode will only work if your first separate both frequency
bands in the settings of your router and assign a separate SSID
for both frequencies. As an alternative, you can also deactivate
the 5GHz temporarily. Check in the manual of your router if
you are not sure what type of router you have or how you can
change these settings. The AP mode described further down
offers another option how to solve the problem. This coupling
mode works with dual band routers without prior separation of
both frequencies.
EZ Mode
1. Reset the automatic feed dispenser by keeping the button SET
on the top of the device pressed for 5 seconds. There will be an
acoustic signal and the green control light will begin to flash
slowly.
2. Choose ADD DEVICE in the app. Search for the field SECURITY
CAMERA under VIDEO SURVEILLANCE.
3. On the next page, you have to change the network pairing
mode. Open the dropdown menu at the top on the right and
choose EZ mode. This setting is easily overlooked.
4. Make sure one more time that the green control light on the
automatic feed dispenser is flashing.
5. Click on next in the app to get to the next page. To the right of
the name of your WLAN, you can call up a list of all available
networks. Here you can check once again if the network you
chose is set to the correct frequency (2.4 GHz exclusively).
Choose the correct network, enter your password and confirm
your entry.
6. The app begins the coupling process and should connect tom
the feed dispenser after a short wait.
AP Mode
1. If the coupling of the device fails although you have followed
all instructions and the frequency of your network is set to 2.4
GHz, you can try an alternative network pairing mode. The AP
mode also works with dual-band routers without prior separa-
tion of both frequencies. Pres the SET button on the device 10
times in a row to activate the AP mode. Next choose AP MODE
in the app and follow the instructions to connect to the hotspot
of the device.
2. Press the SET button 6 times in a row to change back to the EZ
mode from the AP mode.
Programming the Feeding
1. Click on FEED PLAN and ADD TIME to set the feeding times.
Here you can programme different feeding times for 4 feeds
and the days when this is to be repeated. In addition to that,
you can set the number of portions given out for each feeding (1
portion = about 24 ml).
2. In the overview of all feeding times, you can simply activate or
deactivate individual feeding times.
