Cleaning and Disinfection

NOTICE
Remove and replace, if necessary, the respiratory filter before cleaning
and disinfection.
Only use approved cleaning and disinfecting agents (see below).
Excessive disinfectant concentrations and reaction times can damage the
half mask!
Cleaning
Cleaning immediately after use protects the mask against premature wear.
Do not use any organic solvents, such as acetone, alcohol, benzene, spirit,
trichloroethylene, etc.
The mask body has to be cleaned thoroughly so that there are no
residues of skin care products on the mask body.
Otherwise the elasticity in the sealing area can be reduced and the half
mask will not fit anymore. Danger of intoxication!
Clean all parts with lukewarm water with all-purpose detergents
(e.g. Sekusept Cleaner or Eltra) and a cloth.
Rinse with clean water and dry at a temperature of maximum 60

Notes on cleaning and disinfection of silicone masks
Silicone is prone to absorb cleaning agents and disinfectants. In case of
repeated cleaning or disinfection the agents can accumulate in the
silicone. Skin irritations when wearing the mask may be the result,
therefore:
Preferably the agents listed above should be used; they have been tested
by independent certification institutes.
Limit the disinfection times mentioned in the application instructions to a
minimum.
After cleaning and disinfection rinse each part thoroughly for 10 minutes
under running water.
Maintenance and Repair
Check the half mask
Check all parts for tears, brittleness or deformations.
The valve discs must be movable, the valve seats must be clean and
undamaged.
Disassemble half mask (G)
Remove the cap and unscrew the respiratory filter from the half mask.
Press the fastening neps (G3) and sealing profile (G1) out of the adaptor
and pull the mask body out of the adaptor.
Visual inspection of the inhalation valve
Check whether the inhalation valve disc sits evenly on the sealing surface.
If the valve disc has to be replaced or cleaned, grasp the valve disc at the
edge and pull it from the peg.
Visual inspection of the exhalation valve
Grasp the valve disc at the edge and remove it.
Check the valve seat for contamination and damage. Wipe it clean using
a lint-free cloth. Commission suitably qualified persons to replace a
damaged valve seat.
Put the valve disc onto an even surface. The disc should have an even and
planar contact.
