3. Align the winch perpendicular to the vehicle' s centerline of the vehicle at
the desired location. Mark the bolt holes you will use to connect the
winch to the structure. Compare the dimensions of the marked holes.
4. Before drilling, verify that the installation surface has no hidden
components or structural pieces that will be damaged.
5. Drill holes for the hardware at the marked locations.
6. Install the winch using the included hardware. Do not weld the mounting
bolts in place.
MOUNT THE CONTROL BOX
1. Position the control box' s two rear clips over the rear tie bar. Make sure
they are properly fitted.
2. Pull the front clips outward and push the front clips onto the front tie bar.
Release the clips.
3. Push down gently on the control box to seat it. Pull up gently on the box
to confirm it is locked in.
4. If you are unable to fit the front clips onto the bar, remove the front tie
bar screws. Slide the bar into the clips, then align the ends with the
winch' s bolt holes. Screw the tie bar screws back into place.
WIRING
WARNING! Disconnect the battery cables before installing the wiring to avoid
an electrical shock.
Make sure there is access to the engine compartment for the wiring from the
winch to the battery. Ensure the wiring will not be exposed to road debris and
hot or moving engine parts.
You may need to modify the vehicle to create an access point. Install a rubber
grommet or similar device to protect the wires.
Additional wiring will be required if an isolator switch (not included) is
installed.
The 12V automotive battery must be in good operating condition. Consult the
battery' s safety and use instructions.
Refer to Fig. 3 while wiring the winch.
1. Connect the control box' s yellow wire (C1) to the winch' s yellow cap.
2. Connect the control box' s red wire (C3) to the winch' s positive terminal
bolt (top).
