8. Maintenance and Repairs
The materials used to construct your UFO 2 have been carefully chosen for maximum
durability. If you treat your glider carefully and follow these guidelines it will last you a long
time. Excessive wear can occur by bad ground-handling, careless packing, unnecessary
exposure to UV light, exposure to chemicals, heat and moisture.
Packing the glider:
For maintaining the durability of your glider and as well to achieve the perfect package we
recommend packing your glider rib on rib.
For this style we developed a suitable packing method and created therefore a special inner-
bag.
The AirDesign packing method is not a must but we believe this is an optimized kind of packing.
The UFO 2 has got NITINOL rods inside the nose area and partially in the sail which are not
sensitive on bending or kinking at all.

After you have sorted the lines and the glider lays on ground (in kind of a cauliflower)
start gathering the leading-edge cells (nose) together so that they are side by side.
Practically, you can also do this while standing.
