• Position the audio switch in such a way that the IR receiver (1) at the front is not obstructed.
Do not cover it; otherwise operation of the audio switch via the IR remote control is not pos-
sible.
• Protect the surfaces of valuable furniture by using an appropriate underlay to avoid scratches
and pressure marks.
b) Switching the audio switch on/off
• Press the " " (8) button on the IR remote control to switch the audio switch on or off.
Direct the IR LED (11) at the front of the IR control towards the IR receiver (1) on the
audio switch.
• The power LED (2) shows a red light when the audio switch is switched off (standby); the LED
shows a green light when the audio switch is switched on and ready for operation.
c) Selecting the input
• First, switch on the audio switch as described above.
• You can toggle the four inputs one after another by repeatedly pressing the "Select" button
(4). The LED (3) corresponding to the respective input at the front of the audio switch lights
up.
• Alternatively, you can select the desired input directly using the IR remote control. Briefly
press the corresponding button (9) on the IR remote control. The LED (3) corresponding to
the respective input at the front of the audio switch lights up.
Troubleshooting
The audio switch does not react to the IR remote control
• Make sure that the battery in the IR remote control was inserted correctly and that it is suf-
ficiently charged. As a test, replace the battery with a new one. Observe the correct polarity
(pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
• Direct the LED at the front of the IR remote control towards the IR receiver of the audio
switch. The maximum range is approx. 7 m, the opening angle of the IR receiver is approx.
±30° (cone shaped).
• Switch the audio switch on using the " " button (8) on the IR remote control before selecting
an input. The power LED (2) at the audio switch must show a green light.
• Position the audio switch in another location so that there is a direct line of sight between the
IR LED (11) of the IR remote control and the IR receiver (1) of the audio switch.
• Make sure that the audio switch is correctly supplied with power. When switched off (= stand-
by), the power LED (2) is red.
No audio signal at the output of the audio switch
• Make sure that the optical output of your playback device is activated. As a test, you can
unplug the cable from the audio switch and see if the optical fibre at the TOSLINK plug is lit.
• Switch on the audio switch with the " " button (8) of the IR remote control. The power LED
(2) at the audio switch must show a green light.
• Make sure that the correct (optical) input was selected at the device connected to the output
of the audio switch and that the volume is adjusted correctly. Also check whether the mute
function was activated on one of the devices.
• Select the correct input on the audio switch.
Handling
• Use is permitted only in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is
danger to life through an electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a warm
one. The condensation that forms might damage the product. The wall plug transformer also
poses a risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power supply and
putting it into use. This may take several hours.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an authorised repair shop.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during transport:
- Excessive humidity or dampness
- Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gasses, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
Maintenance and Cleaning
• The product does not require any maintenance. You should never take it apart. Any mainte-
nance or repair work may only be performed by an expert.
• Before carrying out any cleaning, the product is to be separated from the mains voltage, pull
the power adapter from the mains socket.
• The outside of the product should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing
(discolouring) or impair operation.
• Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-bristle brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
a) General
Electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of as domestic waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
Remove any battery that might be inserted and dispose of it separately from the
product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with
these symbols to indicate that the disposal of them in the household waste is for-
bidden. The symbols of the critical heavy metals are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury,
Pb=Lead (name written on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g., under the rubbish
bin symbol on the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official col-
lection points of your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable
batteries are sold.
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
