Opel Astra break
1998 - ....
Ref. 1083
Fitting instructions
1)
Remove the trunk floor covering and disassemble the exhaust in the rear. Disassemble the bumper.
2)
The points (A) and (A') fit over the already provided holes in the underside of the chassis. These holes
need to be drilled out in the trunk via the provided grooves. These holes need to be drilled out to ø20mm
in order to introduce the small tubes into the chassis. Place the mounting pieces (-b) and (-c) on the tubes
and affix the bolts in the tubes.
3)
Position the tow bar with the points (A) and (A') on these holes in the underside of the chassis.
Tighten everything firmly.
4)
Before replacing the bumper, make a cut-away at the underside of the bumper. On cutting away at the
sides of the bumper, there is a tracing on the bumper. With a T44, cut away a half circle in the centre
measuring ø40mm and 2,5cm in depth. With a T36 make the cut only in the underside. Cut away a
section from the plastic interspacer in order that it may fit over the pipe of the tow bar.
5)
Assemble (*) and tighten firmly. Replace the exhaust and the bottom covering in the trunk.
