Note: If you use the talk-back function (see
"6.15 Talk-back function" on page 72) while
the parent unit is switched to mute, the
sound volume level will automatically be set
to 3 so that you can hear baby's responses.
This also cancels the automatic vibrating
alarm.
6.15 Talk-back function
The talk-back function allows you to talk to
your baby over the baby unit in its room to
soothe it.
1. Press and hold the TALK button
28 on the parent unit and wait
until you hear a beep and the
corresponding symbol appears
on the screen.
This means that the voice connection has
been established and you can talk to
your baby.
2. Hold the parent unit about 10-20 cm
away from your mouth to ensure your
voice is transmitted clearly.
Your baby will be able to hear you over
the loudspeaker 14 of the baby unit.
3. The volume at which baby will hear your
voice will have been set beforehand,
using the VOL +/- 11 buttons on the
baby unit (see "5.3 Setting the volume"
on page 54).
4. Release the TALK button 28 to hear your
baby's response and see the video trans-
mission again.
You will be able to see baby's response
on the screen of the parent unit.
The TALK symbol disappears.
Notes:
• If the baby unit 1 is in Eco-Mode, this
function is deactivated.
• If the parent unit is switched to mute (see
"6.14 Mute function" on page 71), the
sound volume level will automatically be
set to 3 when you press the Talk button
28. This ensures that you will be able to
hear your baby's response.
6.16 Zoom in / scroll image
In video monitoring, you can use the zoom
function any time for a closer look at your
baby.
1. To activate the zoom function, press and
hold down the ZOOM button 25 until the
camera shows a suitably enlarged image.
The
corresponding
appears in the status bar.
2. Use the
buttons to scroll the image for the best
view.
3. To deactivate the zoom function, press
and hold down the ZOOM button 25
again until the camera zooms out and the
symbol in the status bar disappears.
6.17 Night mode
The light sensor 4 of the baby unit measures
the light in baby's room. When the light falls
below a certain level, the camera automati-
cally switches to night mode.
The infrared LEDs 6 are activated and illumi-
nate your baby for the camera.They are
invisible in the dark and are also deactivated
in Eco-Mode.
