Mounting

1)
Each load cell should be bridged by a twisted copper cable on assembly, or immediately there
after, (e.g. EEK... by HBM= approx. 16 mm2). This is how you prevent damage by welding cur
rents. The grounding of the load cell reduces the hazard of load cell damage by lightning.
RTN
When mounting the load cells the following points are to
be noted:
S Please handle the load cells with care!
S Load cells are precision transducers, the achievable
accuracy therefore depends very much on correct
assembly!
S Use suitable lifting gear for mounting the weighing
device!
S Do not overload the load cell, not even temporarily
(e.g. by unevenly distributed support loads)!
S Use equal height dummies when carrying out align
ment work that may damage the load cell!
S Ensure point load application in the load cell's direc
tion of measurement. Use spherical thrust pieces with
sufficient radius (HBM accessory).
S Avoid transverse forces and moments (see also the
chapter "Technical Data")!
S Depending on the actual design provide for lift-off
protection devices and limit stops!
S Bring the force introduction points of the load cells to
the same level. For this purpose, the mounting acces
sories include shims!
S Protect the load cell against
- one-sided heat radiation
- influences caused by subsequent welding work
