roof bars, roof racks and roof accessories
IMPORTANT! These safety - use instructions complements the assembly
instructions, included with each product in its packaging.
General
1.
The manufacturer is neither responsible for any damage or incident derived from not following
the safety - use and the assembly instructions, nor for improper use of the product, modifica-
tion, substitution or use of parts different to the manufacturer's originals.
2.
Read and follow the assembly and safety - use instructions and keep them with the vehicles'
documents. These instructions shall be handed over to other users if handing over the roof
rack or any roof accessory.
3.
The roof bar, roof rack or roof accessory is designed so that no damage to the vehicle can
result after proper assembly and use.
4.
The driver is the solely responsible to ensure that the roof bar, roof rack or roof accesory and
the load are securely fastened (following always the safety - use and the assembly instruc-
tions) even if they are mounted by a third person.
5.
The small parts from the roof rack (or other roof accessory) must be out of reach of children.
6.
Never modify the original state of the product, it is not permitted.
Loading
7.
Verify all necessary pieces are included according to packing list included in the assembly
instructions.
8.
Clean the roof of the vehicle and the components of the product which are in direct contact with
the roof before assembly.
9.
It is highly recommended to be on a safe zone without traffic (house, garage, car park, the
verge of a road, etc) to assemble the product or handle the load.
10.
Follow exhaustively and carefully the assembly instructions and be sure that the roof bar, roof
rack or roof accesory is suitable for the vehicle (by checking the indications in the assembly
instructions or in the package of the product but also manufacturer's instructions of the user
manual of the vehicle in the section of loading / transport / roof racks). Then assemble the
product following the correct sequence (1, 2, 3 or A, B, C and so on).
11.
Roof bars, roof racks and roof accesories are compatible with the model versions with sunroof,
panoramic roof and practicable panoramic roof. Always consult, and first of all, the manufacturer's
instructions of the user manual of the vehicle in the section of loading / transport / roof bars. Under
no circumstances may the roof be opened / used with the roof racks installed. The possible dam-
ages produced by the opening of the roof will always be the responsibility of the user.
12.
Some types of radio antenna cannot be used when roof bars, roof racks or roof accessories
are installed.
13.
If no specific fitting positions are given in the assembly instructions, try to maintain a minimum
distance of 700 mm between the roof bars. When carrying long loads, the distance between the
roof bars should not be less than 600 mm.
14.
The use of the roof bars, roof racks or roof accesories must always allow free access to the doors
and hatch of the vehicle.
15.
No part of the roof bars, roof racks or roof accesory shall protrude over the rain gutter or, in
case of vehicles without rain gutters, over the roof outer edges in accordance with the Road
Traffic Regulations.
16.
The correct fixation and condition of the product and all components must be verified before, dur-
ing and after each use.
17.
All bolted joints and connections shall be checked for firm fit before each journey and retight-
ened, if necessary.
18.
Each time the product is reassembled on the vehicle roof and after each new load on the roof rack, the
roof rack and the load shall be checked for firm attachment for the first time after a short travel time
