NEVER try to tend to a crying child's needs while driving. Never take a child out
of the enhanced child restraint system for comforting while the vehicle is moving.

DO NOT allow a child to have objects such as lollipops or ice cream on a stick. These objects
can injure the child if the vehicle swerves or hits a bump.

Put sharp or heavy items in the trunk. Anything loose can be deadly in a crash.

In cold weather a child may need an extra blanket for warmth. Put the child in the
enhanced child restraint system and cover both the belted child and the enhanced
child restraint system with a blanket.
PREMATURE INFANT USE
Before using this enhanced child restraint system for pre-term or low birth weight infants,
ensure the Child Requirements are met and follow the guidelines in this section.
1.
All children should ride rear-facing in the vehicle as long as possible.
2.
Pre-term and low-birth-weight infants are at additional risk of breathing
difficulties and heart problems when placed in an enhanced child restraint system.
3.
It is required that for all infants born earlier than 37 weeks and all newborn infants
who weigh less than 2.26 kg at birth before their first car trip to check for breathing
difficulties or heart rate problems when traveling in a rear-facing enhanced child
restraint system.
4.
It is recommended that appropriate hospital staff observe your infant in the
enhanced child restraint system for a period of 90 to 120 minutes or the duration
of travel, whichever is longer. This period of observation must be performed with
the infant properly positioned as described in these instructions and with the
enhanced child restraint system placed at an angle that is approved for use in
the vehicle. The hospital staff will check for any breathing difficulties or heart rate
problems.
5.
Consult the child's paediatrician will let you know if there are any special
considerations for travel. The number of trips and the duration of time the infant
is seated in the enhanced child restraint system should be minimized. A caregiver
should ride in the back seat to monitor the infant during travel.
