Total chlorine
1.
After determining the free chlorine, remove the cell
from the cell compartment.
2.
Add a DPD No. 3-tablet to the same sample, crush
with a clean stirring rod and mix well.
3.
Fit the stopper to the cell. Make sure the outside of
the cell is clean and dry.
4.
Place the cell in the cell compartment and close the
lid.
Wait two minutes for colour reaction.
5.
After waiting two minutes, press the TEST key.
The display shows the result in mg/l total chlorine:
Combined chlorine
To determine the amount of combined chlorine, the
free chlorine value is subtracted from the total chlorine.
Combined chlorine = Total chlorine – Free chlorine
Example:
Total chlorine
– Free chlorine
= Combined chlorine 1.85 mg/l
