Firmness Adjustment

1. Press the firmness button on the Home screen to enter the Firmness screen.
2. The firmness is adjusted by pressing the arrows up or down. With a new patient the presets must
first be set as follows:
•
Press the presets button on the Firmness screen
•
Enter the patients weight and height
•
Press the set button to save the details and return to the Firmness screen
3. Perform a hand check to verify sufficient support:
•
Slide your hand flat between the mattress foam base and the cushions to verify a 2.5 cm to 4 cm
clearance.
4. Allow sufficient time for the air supply unit and mattress to respond to air pressure changes.

When adjusting the patients position (e.g. from Fowler's position to supine) the firmness
setting may need to be readjusted).

Patient Transfer from TheraKair Visio MRS

1. Press the InstaFlate button on the Home screen to access the InstaFlate screen.
2. Press the ON button on the InstaFlate screen to activate the InstaFlate function.
3. Adjust the bed height as required.
4. Lower the side rails.
5. Position a wheelchair or gurney next to the bed.
6. Transfer the patient.
7. Exit the InstaFlate screen to return to the Home screen.

Patient Transport on the TheraKair Visio MRS

Before transporting a patient the mattress should be fully deflated and the side rails raised.
It is recommended that the period of time that the patient is resting on a deflated mattress be as short
as possible.
