Patient Migration
Specialty surfaces have different shear and support characteristics than conventional surfaces and may
increase the risk of patient movement, sinking and / or migration into hazardous positions of entrapment
and / or inadvertent bed exit. Monitor patients frequently to guard against patient entrapment.
Use With Other Devices
All TheraKair Visio MRS components are designed to be used as single system. The TheraKair Visio Therapy
Unit should only be used with the TheraKair Visio MRS. Any attempt to connect and use the therapy unit
with any other brand or model of mattress or overlay may result improper operation of equipment, possibly
leading to increased risk of patient injury.
Protection Against Hazards
Fluids
Avoid spilling fluids on any part of the therapy unit.
If spills do occur:
•
Disconnect the unit from the main electricity supply
•
Clean fluids from the case
Ensure that there is no moisture in or near the power inlet, power switch and power plug
before reconnecting the power supply.
•
Check the operation of controls and other components in the area of the spill
•
Perform applicable checkout procedures
Fluids remaining on the electronic controls can cause corrosion that may cause the electronic
components to fail. Component failures may cause the unit to operate erratically, possibly
producing potential hazards to patient and staff.
Prolonged contact with therapy unit may result in hazard to patient or caregiver.
Power Cable
The system should never be operated with a worn or damaged power cable. Should the power cable
be found to be worn or damaged, contact your local ArjoHuntleigh subsidiary or agent for a replacement.

Air Intake
The air intakes for the TheraKair Visio Therapy Unit are at the rear and on the underside. To avoid the risk of
blocking these intakes, it is recommended that the unit should only be mounted on the footboard of a bed
frame. Should the bed not have a suitable footboard, it is recommended that the unit is placed on a solid
stationary surface.
