7. Accessories

7.1 Connection and operation with the depth measuring
sensor When conducting measurements deep in material
you will need the pluggable depth measuring sensor.
1. Drill two 6 mm diameter holes into the material to be
examined.
2. The distance between the holes should be 50 mm +/-
20 mm, because a deviation of this range of tolerance
can falsify the measured value.
3. Select an appropriate drilling depth in order to obtain a
clear representation of the situation of the source of moi-
sture.
4. Now place the measuring needle adapter onto the
measuring needles on the HPM 3000+ and measure the
desired area with the depth measuring sensor.
NOTE! After drilling wait around 15 minutes in order for
the degree of moisture that has evaporated as a result of
the drilling heat to reach its original value again. Otherwi-
se the measured value results can be falsified.
7.2 Connection and operation of the Ptl00 surface tem-
perature sensor
The temperature sensor is particularly suitable for deter-
mining the object temperature and for ascertaining ther-
mal bridges in the measuring range of -25 °C to 150 °C,
or -13 °F to 302 °F.
The surface sensor is connected to the interface of the
HPM 3000+ via a 5 pin connector. The sensor is recog-
nised by the measuring instrument and immediately indi-
cates the temperature on the display.
By pressing the key the degree of moisture can also be
measured in addtion to the temperature.
You can choose between the units °C and °F under the
menu option.
