- The old cable that you had disconnected from the power point and that leads to the
fuses/fuse box must be connected directly to the output of the Shore Power Protector.
If this cable is too short then extend it or replace it using a longer cable at least 3 x 1.5

Control panel

Position the panel in a place where the user can operate it easily.
Check that it is possible to lead the cable connecting the panel with the switching unit
through easily
Use a hole saw to cut a hole in the instrument panel. See the dimensions drawing.

Connecting cable

If the connecting cable supplied of about 2 metres in length is not the right length then
this can be replaced by a standard network cable (type CAT5 or CAT6 with two RJ45 con-
nectors one at each end) of the right length as available in all computer shops and most
department stores and DIY stores.
We recommend not to use a cable longer than 3 metres.
Make sure that you use a normal 1:1 cable and not a crossed cable!
The connecting cable must be connected before putting the control panel in the hole.
The plug on the connecting cable can only be put in one way round and must click prop-
erly. It is possible to remove the cable again by using a small screwdriver to push the
locking lip to one side and pulling the cable out carefully.
Put the connector at the other end of the cable into the socket in the cabinet containing
the switching unit.
The installation is now complete and the 230V shore power cable can now be recon-
nected.
