FC4 Ex, FC4 L Ex
The use of headphones/headset with an explosion-proof unit version
FC4 (L) Ex is not allowed! To maintain the explosion protection, the
sealing plug is permanently glued into the socket. When this plug is remo-
ved, the operating permit for the explosion-proof unit expires.
FC4 Ex HS, FC4 L Ex HS
The explosion-proof handsets with the designation FC4 (L) Ex HS may be
operated either with the headphones/headset, part no. 50 1010 5101 or
with headphones / headsets having their own explosion protection approval
and additionally matching the requirements specified on page 153. The ex-
plosion protection of these FC4 (L) Ex HS handsets is limited to gas explo-
sion protection. When these handsets are operated without headphones /
headset, the socket must be plugged with the original plug. Otherwise the
operating permit for the explosion-proof unit will expire.
Service adapter socket
On the rear of the explosion-proof unit, a service adapter socket is provided
which in the ex-works condition is plugged with a rubber plug. The explosion-
proof unit may only be brought into hazardous areas with potentially explosive
atmospheres and operated there when the service adapter socket is plugged
with the undamaged original plug.
